This month I joined two roommates to take up a new sublet in Chicago’s Ukranian village! Above you can see the elk hide I mentioned back in December (wrapped up while house sitting) that now lives above my desk! (plus someone else’s window treatment I snapped👌)
I’ve also been adding more material to my PrintAllOverMe and Society6 pages,  studio-assisting at RedShift Couture, logging some sketchbook hours and planning a trip to NYC next month to help execute Jessica’s mural
Hope everyone’s soaking up the stellar weather!

We did a minor rebrand this weekend here at QDC! Be sure to check out our main page to see ALL the fresh changes. Let’s take a moment to familiarize ourselves with our team, since we just added a new member.
Our founder is Jessica Roux, a Brooklyn based illustrator and designer. She is originally from the woodlands of North Carolina, where she grew up surrounded by an abundance of nature. Using subdued colors and rhythmic shapes, she renders flora and fauna with intricate detail reminiscent of old world beauty. She is currently available for freelance work so feel free to contact her. jessicaroux on tumblr, http://jessica-roux.com , jessicasroux on twitter
Jade Johnson is a freelance illustrator from New Orleans, Louisiana. She specializes in editorial illustration and children’s book illustration; using shapes like cut paper to collage her illustrations in Adobe Photoshop. She went to college at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia, from which she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration in the spring of 2013. jadejohnsonillustration on tumblr, on behance, http://www.jade-johnson.com
Emily Quintero was an Illustration major at SCAD from the D.C. area. She is a traditional artist most noted for her line complexity and portraiture. Her style is precise and bold, influenced by Art Nouveau, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism. She also draws inspiration from Japanese woodblock prints, as well as a plethora of contemporary artists and her Savannah cohorts. emilydraws on tumblr, http://www.emilyquintero.com/
Jill Colbert: My main concepts in my work come when they are in mid process or are already completed. I draw constantly, on average filling up 3 sketchbooks a month, and it’s gotten to where a lot of my art is mindless and has a life of its own. Experimentation, a proactive mentality and making my images as weird or surreal as possible are my main focuses when creating, to the point I want the viewer to enjoy, be disturbed, question or perhaps a little bit of everything when looking at my work. manfishinc on tumblr, http://www.manfishinc.com
Julia Lavigne is a freelance illustrator living in New Orleans. She is a recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Check out the rest of her work on her portfolio and follow her on tumblr, julia-lavigne, and twitter!
Paige Money is a freelance animator/illustrator/designer from Atlanta, Ga. She recently graduated from SCAD with a BFA in animation. Aside from doing all things art, Paige likes meeting horses and hanging with her pup, Finley. paige-money on tumblr, http://paigemoney.com, mystic_beaver on twitter
Stephanie Crane is an illustrator based in Savannah, Georgia with a B.F.A. in Illustration from SCAD. Her work combines rich value and texture with careful and subdued color. Her skill truly shines when working with portraiture and dark or mysterious themes. In the future, she hopes to take over the (art) world. Stephanie can be reached at TheArtist@stephaniecraneart.com, www.stephaniecraneart.com, on facebook
Kenton Visser is a graduate of the SCAD illustration program currently working as a freelance illustrator, certified framer and art instructor. His work has included poster, book, culinary and web illustration, and his art has appeared in numerous exhibitions in Illinois and Georgia. Eager to exploit the absurdist capabilities of image, Kenton continues to draw inspiration from Surrealist art and American pulp illustration of the mid twentieth century.  When not drawing or painting, he enjoys reading, biking and baking artisan bread. Raised in Champaign, Illinois, Kenton now lives reluctantly in Fort Worth, Texas. kentonblogs on tumblr, http://www.kentonvisser.com, KentonLikesFish on twitter
Patricia Thomasson was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Georgia where she earned her BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work employs traditional techniques of ink and graphite linework, paired with vibrantly rendered colors in marker, colored pencil and China marker. anticipatricia on tumblr, on behance, http://www.pthomillu.com
Vickie V. is an illustrator living in Denver, CO. She has her BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Outside of making comical illustrations, Vickie likes chasing stray cats, taking pictures, and dismantling the patriarchy. vickie-v on tumblr
Lena Hunter is an illustrator living in southern New Jersey. She’s a sucker for good food and bad puns. But most of all, she loves making harmonious images that bring emotions, ideas, and stories to life. flamingo lines on tumblr, http://lenahunter.com, Lena_Hunter on twitter
Zoë Lotus Heatwole was raised in the northeastern US on a steady diet of cartoons, pasta, and comics. She earned her B.F.A. in Animation and Motion Media Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and intends to use it only for good. In free time, she enjoys cooking, knitting, and admiring other people’s adorable dogs. She currently resides in Denver, CO. zoelotus on tumblr, http://www.zoelotus.net
Sayada Ramdial is a freelance illustrator and artist from Trinidad & Tobago. Since deciding as a child to pursue a career in art, she has been drawing, painting and learning other creative skills. Theme 22 was picked by Patricia Thomasson ( anticipatricia ): Mix Tapes!
Each member will make a playlist and cover art for their very own mix. There always seems to be connections between what we listen to and what we make, and this is a great time to explore that!
